The Bat vs. The Clown Pt. 2: Prelim Sketch A

Okay for this one I got ahead of myself (as usual). Many of you recognize this as my "A Warrior of The Knight" submission. I had to make a few alterations, and that's a lesson that those who want to experiment with photo reference should remember; don't get hampered by the photo. Remember you're not drawing the model, you're focusing on the proportions for your character. Since my Charlie Brown-sized cranium made the body shot a little gangly. The belt, sadly, shot down that aim. He still looks a little bit on the slim side. But again this is trial and error, ladies and gentlemen. Also the light and shadow effect worked out great. As you can see on the visible hand I inverted the light and shadow so that more black would appear than white to give off that leathery texture.
