They all have been avengers at one point.
This is one hell of an aquisition. It's even more striking with just John's pencils and Scott's inks. I love how one of Spidey's feet is anchored to Goblin's quad and the other against his arm, the latter both for leverage and restraint from throwing that pumpkin bomb. And them both throwing hands upside down is more suspenseful and even shows that Norman keeps on that glider magnetically. It's an epic throwdown between two storied rivals. Congrats on this awesome purchase, dude!
Mr. Shields, I really hate to tell you, but this is not from the Shazam origin. This is Lex Luthor operating on John Corbin to turn him into Metallo, and that is from the second to last issue of Superman: Secret Origin.
Dude you got GOLD with this splash! Joe NAILED Rick's fear and confusion at what is going on. And he even through in the body horror aspect of his transformation with that those small fingers in between the grey oversized fingers. Excellent aquisition.
Brilliant piece. Paul captures the personalities of Jay and Barry perfectly. Having Barry look over at his childhood hero speaks volumes of how high he holds Jay in his esteem.
Amazing acquisition, my friend. Even today hearing that laugh and seeing that horse rearing up in the cemetery gives me chills. I was born on Halloween and I feel connected to anything with that holiday.
One of the best non-stock transforamtions in this series! I religiously followed the cartoon as a kid and was lucky enough to get it on blu-ray. But dude you're more lucky to get this piece (and others apparently) of animation history. Congratulations.
The transition in this change is just as awesome as his Ben Griimm into Thing transformation. One theory I've always had about the hairline is that it doesn't shrink; that is Banner's actual hair length sitting on top of a head that has outgrown it. And I love the huge difference in proportions; compared to a normal sized human, Byrne's Hulk looks immense and threatening as he should. The texture on the Hulk's face is awesome in its subtlety and breathability on the pencils. Incredible in every sense of the word.
You're lucky to have this. It's always fascinating to see the mental processes of an artist that I truly admire. The fact that Alex Ross went to the trouble of studying the mechanics of the armor instead of just getting right to paints is informative.
I was happy to do this for you. And it feels validating to see a legend's signature on a likeness I sketched. RIP Stan. And thank you.
My God, that man was a genius. Such a loss to the art community. His mastery of negatives space and cross-hatching was awe-inspiring. The Headless Horseman was the first real ghost that scared the hell out of me when I was a kid back when I first watched Disney's version of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. I believe these days it's also known as "Icabod Crane Meets Mr. Toad." His take on the Hessian is incredible; you get that sense of horror and genuine threat he presents. The horse rearing back and the sabre at the ready works magnificently. Awesome acquisition.
I did get back to you. I sent a letter yesterday in your hotmail and a response through my website's mailbox. I've seen your gallery and it seems like you want the same animated style. But I'm confused as to whether you want a full rendering from me or a pencil sketch to be developed by others. Please specify
I like the decision to give Adam the classic pose from the 80s transformation and the difference in He-Man.
Referenced from "The Incredible Hulk Returns" back in 1988 for NBC. The hair and the jawline are a dead giveaway. I was eight years old when I watched that for the first time.
The best damn return shot of the Green Goliath since I saw Dale Keown's first try with the original Green Hulk after years of tolerating Joe Fixit! Good job!!!
Awesome grab my friend. Paul Ryan was the FF artist when I first got into the book back in the mid 90s. His Sue Richards during her Malice phase was HOT AS HELL! The way he drew Ben was also fantastic because he made him look more human than previously drawn.
YOU LUCKY DOG!!! I'm totally with you on that one. I have a Bagley marker sketch of Spidey that I won from Ebay and it would take a extremely good reason for me to even CONSIDER parting with it. For the moment, thankfully, this does not exist. Feel free to check it in my Convention sketches section.
This is great. I was actually thinking of doing my own tribute. Congrats on being the only comic art fan member thus far to log in a piece like this. RIP Robin; thank you so much for the laughs and the memories. I really hope you're leavin both Chris (Reeve) and the big guy up there in stitches, man. Nanoo Nanoo.
This is amazing, Mike! It has such a resemblance to Emma Stone it's uncanny. It totally works, man. The webs are a nice touch as well.
Looks like kitty's got her claws back with a vengeance. Ramos captures Felicia's fury and hurt magnificently here. The redesign of Cat's costume also works; she's gone completely over to the dark side for the sole purpose of vengeance. Nice grab, man!
I think in terms of animation I loved the first fight between these two in both Alien Costume Part 2 (Spider-Man: The Animated Series 1994) and that episode in Spectacular Spider-Man the best. Comics wise, Romita's cover and the Bags-Rubenstein collab are top-notch!
Superb pencil work and awesome expression. Keown has such a commanding presence in just leads before inks or color is added. This just screams "Don't think I forgot about YOU."

The beard is a unique look for Logan. Admittedly that IS what would happen if you were stuck in a tank for several months; why would only his hair grow wild? Have to admit the beard also gives him a kind of Macho Man Randy Savage look, which is cool. "OH YEEAAAAHHH!! SNIKT!" Nice job, man!
Awesome scored piece of art. The one complaint that I've always had about artists' different interpretations about the Lizard was how he seemed either too gater-esque or why the regrown arm didn't have a completely shredded sleeve since it was always rolled up or pinned up. The face I feel works best when there's still a bit of humanity in the structure of the eyes and the mouth. Rhys Ifans' Lizard in the recent film harkens back to Romita's version before the 90s McFarlane redesign. While John could have made him a little more bulky and taller as opposed to this Wolfman-like physicality (monster hands, feet, and face while completely normal looking build), this is classic Romita and don't dare question the maestro. Great acquisition.
This is a choice piece and shows how wonderfully complex a villain Otto Octavius is. And this is a significant spotlight to be shone on their relationship in light of recent events. For those who hadn't read the crossover storyline during the Clone Saga, Peter had been drugged with a fatal virus and Doc Ock took it upon himself to helping Spider-Man with a cure (after successfully unmasking him in his weakened state thanks to assistance from Stunner) out of ego. He wanted no one to defeat Peter but him. And now he's done so in the most perverse irredeemable way imaginable. Sal and Bill were a perfect marriage on this book; you're lucky to have this in your collection.
Keep his mask on this time, Steve lol. J/k. The simplicity of your inks and the ability to make it look 3D without color is amazing.
LOL I can SO see Mikey doing this. Hey let's have a crossover between Mikey and Bats just for laughs.
This is CHOICE, Webs! Incredible design and you have one hell of a colorist! It really brings Sinestro's might to the forefront!
How much are prints? Is there a price diff between BW and color?
"Antoine got a little HOT under the collar." That was the first line that came to mind when I saw this image. Dude all I can say is SCORE! You are lucky!
Awww ain't he a cute and cuddly GL. And cue the yellow simi; what a ridiculous way to die. But hey dude you forgot the bow tie!
The headshot's great, but this plotpoint was one of the weirdest 've ever seen. Chaz Bono in reverse.
I remember this scene from the show most vividly. I used to HAVE this comic, actually. It was a one-shot centered around Vincent painting a portrait of Catherine for her birthday. This was a flashback scene to the first time she saw him. Too bad you dont know who the aritst is because this is really great work.
"I'm so good I got you covered front and back!"
Question: What the Hell would these chicks have to do to piss the Hulk up THAT much?!
Just incredible (no pun intended). Obviously this is ANOTHER splash from the infamous #372, which showcased the return of the Green Hulk. It's funny how the effect is altered with a different angle. This pose and facial expression on the Hulk conveys a sense of victory. That "I Have Returned" look. This version of the Green Hulk's face has a mix of Keown as well as a bit of Mignola and Sal Buscema. All in all, although the chosen splash is the most powerful, this one is in second place but still just as (insert girly scream).
