DescriptionI was sold this as a Ditko when i 1st started buying art, i have heard that its not Ditko who drew it?I looks like his work? But what do i know? If anyone could explain, that would be great, also if the person who has the Ditko Creeper cover pleasae get in touch with me as i would like to give you more money then you could ever spend for the cover! I have since found out the following... According to comic historians, Ditko abandoned the Creeper while working on the sixth (and final) issue of the initial series. He supposedly turned in the first 11 pages of that issue and then walked away from the book and his creation—just as he had walked away from his most famous creation, Spider-Man, two years earlier at Marvel. Despite the absence of credits being listed in that issue, Jack Sparling has long since been identified as the illustrator of at least the last 13 pages of Beware the Creeper #6. However, if Ditko did indeed do any work on the first 11 pages, then it appears that either Sparling or inker Mike Peppe must have redrawn most of Ditko’s work. Hardly any of the lines in those first 11 pages look like Ditko drew them, and only a few of the body postures of the characters are reminiscent of Ditko’s layouts. Social/Sharing |

It's believed Jack Sparling drew the last half of this issue and that inker Mike Peppe finished. Ditko may have drawn or provided breakdowns for the first half of the story and then it was inked and probably heavily redrawn by Peppe. Ditko, it is believed, had a severe disagreement with Dick Giordano about the direction of the book and dropped it like he did Spider-Man after falling out with Stan Lee. There's quite a bit about this on the net and it likely all ties into his belief in the Ayn Randian philosophy, Objectivism.
