Captain America #385 p. 4 - Ron Lim

When I saw this on Anthony's site, that's when I realized that this page was a holy grail. Not because it's got any historical significance or a character I just have to collect. It has sentimental value.

When this issue was published, I had been collecting comics for about a year. I had no concept of original art or sketches. While reading this comic, I wondered "Where did Cap get that picture of Rachel?". It bugged me. At the end of the issue, they announced the return of USAgent, so I was really excited. I decided to write my first ever letter to a comic book.

I asked Mark Gruenwald what else he had written and told him how excited I was that USAgent was coming back. I also asked him where Cap got the picture and if I could get a copy too. That was my attempt at getting a sketch, although like I said, I had no concept of art collecting.

Mark responded to my letter personally. He sent me a postcard answering all my questions! I still have the postcard and I keep it bagged safely with a copy of #385. I posted some scans of it in this section.

So now you know why I had to get this page. I'm thinking of framing it with the postcard and the printed page.
