Description

In issue #34 of Sandman, Colleen Doran's pencils were inked in a fashion that did not please Neil, Colleen, or the publisher, so when the opportunity came for the work to be redone for the Absolute Sandman volumes, Colleen was asked to step in and fix the problem for the new edition of the book.

The original pages were shot onto bristol paper in blue line ink, and Colleen Doran re-inked the art by hand to look as much like her original pencils as possible. This is the original page that appeared in volume II of Absolute Sandman. This is not a photocopy or facsimile. This work was drawn by hand, and it is extremely clean, free of white out or paste ons or corrections of any kind. You can see the reproduction of the word balloon placements directly on the page. This is the only issue of Sandman that has been redone this way.

This art that appeared in Absolute Sandman was page 2 from issue #34 of the series, the opening page of this story from the A Game of You arc. This is the opening splash title page.
