DescriptionTo me, these early Marshall Rogers pages are like little jewels, when he was a young turk trying to prove himself to the comic industry. Like many of Marshall's pages, the backgrounds are prominent, and it's pretty clear in the original that the rivers that run through Apokolips are made of blood, which I didn't notice when I read this in the halcyon days of 1977. Special thanks to wonderful collector extraordinaire Joel Thingvall for making this piece available and being an all around super nice guy.Social/Sharing |

This is a wonderful page featuring the male half of my favorite Kirby couple. ;) It shows Scott doing what he does best and looking good doing it. Beautiful work by Marshall. Congrats on a fine addition.

Marshall's backgrounds were always the highlight of ever issue of MM for me. He is able to fill each panel never so they looked cramped or crowded. I bought these just to look at Marshall's art.
