"... vibrating at a different frequency than our own ..." Aquaman and Dr. Fate

Now, this brings me back! When I was a kid it seemed like every appearance of the Justice Society of America would feature a panel or two explaining the whole Earth 1 and Earth 2 concept. The captions would explain that some Earth 2 heroes were nearly identical to their Earth 1 counterparts while others differed in significant ways from their trans-dimensional doubles. Still other heroes were unique to their Earths and for this part of the explanation Aquaman and Dr. Fate were almost always cited.
When I saw Joe Staton’s name on the list of artists accepting commissions at Spencer Beck’s wonderful site, The Artist’s Choice (http://www.theartistschoice.com/), I knew what image I wanted him to draw for me. Oh, I toyed with the idea of a Staton Aquaman / Green Lantern piece or one featuring the Sea King teaming with a few of my favorite Legionnaires but I kept coming back to this idea. I chose Wonder Woman for the “nearly identical heroes” and eschewed GL for the Flash “for the different in significant ways” heroes. Joe really captured the nostalgic feeling I was looking for. He and Spencer get my highest recommendation.
