Aalya Secura, by Michael Dooney

I've seen scans of Michael Dooney's convention sketches here on Comic Art Fans, and I really wanted to get one by him. At the first New York Comic Con in 2006, he was all booked up. In 2007, he didn't make it to the show because he was sick. Finally, this year at the third NYCC, I was able to get on his sketch list.

Michael excels at drawing good girl/cheescake pin-ups, featuring women who are both sexy and classy. So of course I had to have him to draw a female character. Michael fortunately had some Star Wars reference on hand, including for Aayla, so I asked him if he could sketch her. Obviously he must have been inspired, because he really went to town on this one, creating an amazing illustration. This is definitely one of the best pieces in my entire SW sketchbook.
