Description

Lucifer had given up his wings in the pages of "Sandman" when he abdicated the throne of Hell. The wings then came into the possession of Izanami, the Japanese goddess of the underworld. In this story, Lucifer enters her realm powerless in order to claim the wings while her sons plot to kill him. I've appreciated the way the figures on this page were posed in a style reminiscent of classic Japanese and Chinese hunting scenes.
