Adam's version of the Paul Dini and Bruce Timm character. Adam spent three months working on an unsuccessful animated project. Bruce drew an alternate
Dirty Pair cover for one of Adam's Dark Horse comics.
I first met Adam Warren at the short-lived Anime America in Santa Clara, CA in 1993. He had copies of his Bubblegum Crisis mini-series and the artwork was vastly improved over his previous Dirty Pair comics. I complimented Adam on the new work and he indicated fellow guest Kenichi Sonoda and said he was following a master. On that day, I asked for a sketch of Priss and got a much better result than those who asked for Kei or Yuri.
Not until San Diego 1998, did I think to inquire after any original art at his usual Dark Horse signing. Adam didn't have any with him at the time, but offered to do a commission at home and send it to me in about a month. I asked for the four Knight Saber heroines from Bubblegum Crisis and requested he draw them in their physical training outfits from episode 8. The package didn't arrive until the following January, but I was thrilled with the results. Furthermore, Adam didn't just do one drawing of the four girls, he did another on two pages which form a diptych. And he threw in an old drawing of the Dirty Pair. I set up commissions over the next few years and Adam has responded with wonderful drawings. The waiting time has increased to one year with personal delivery at San Diego. Adam missed the con in 2007 and 2008 while working on Empowered, his sexy superhero comedy. The art is printed directly from his pencils. Dark Horse has published six volumes to date with the seventh due in 2012.
