Ben an Me, 1954, Amos

Adapted from Robert Lawson's "Ben and Me: An Astonishing Life of Benjamin Franklin by His Good Mouse Amos", this cartoon tells Benjamin Franklin life trough Amos eyes. After Ben's experiments with electricity endanger Amos' life, Amos and Franklin part. Here, Amos is listening to Benjamin Franklin begging him to come back as his precious help. Amos will impose a written agreement to Ben before agreeing to come back. This agreement stating that "When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth..." will unvoluntarily inspire Ben while assisting Thomas Jefferson with the drafting of the Declaration of Independence.
