DescriptionSince Eric was in Gent this year for the FACTS Con, we had arranged that he would bring my home commission to the show for me to pick up, but since he was in a hurry he forgot it at home and offered me the chance to get a con commission. Unfortunately I stayed only for saturday and so I have to wait for this Beauty to be shipped to me along with the home commission.Edite from Erics Deviantart page: Artist's Comments this is a commission done for a fan of grace in belgium yet again. but we got lucky this time i actually got to scan it. i work normally on the paper i bring because it has a semi ruff texture that lets me do that soft shading everyone seems to like. but this fan insisted on giving me his own paper...sneaky guy too..cause this paper is bigger, and he got more for his money but at the same price..i wont let that happen again..hehe i didnt really mind, but i struggled a lil cause the paper was so smooth and kinda glossy, so it was very hard for me to shade all the soft spots like the face and abdominal area.. but i managed and i think it still came out ok.. i did this one the last day i was there, but man it was not easy, i was tired from the lack of sleep the night b4, but this time i was really...well the show treated us to dinner and everything was free and that included the drinks..so i had a few, and then a few more.. good thing i can still draw with blurry vision...hehe...but shhhh, dont tell anyone theres actually not much to say about this one. but when approaching the character in thought...i always try and think of his/her powers and see if theres anything i can do with that. anything i can use to to get a more interesting pose...for example, iron man, he can shoot all kinds of crap from his armor. so i would have him flying with one arm down to his side, clenched fist...and the other hand streched out in front of him shooting out some lasers ..in this case, its her wings...simple, shes up in the air. i decided to go more shy/tender with her body language...and im fluent in that language... i imagine a girl in school, standing by her locker or some such...looking off..gazing at her un-obtainable crush..wishing she were his girlfriend and not the hot cheerleader... so i imagine, shes shy, so i put her hands behind her back....and cause shes gazing off...her head is tilted to give her a sense of drift...her chest is out cause she wants to lour him in with her womanly bosom. if any of u ever wonder how u can make ur drawing of a girl look hotter?? my rule of thumb is never EVER have her spine straight...bend it, twist it, lean it...but never straight cause its boring and stiff. the "eye candy" terminology i found isnt the hot chick in the midlde of the paper..nope, not her boobs either...its all the crap around her..like the hair blowing in the wind...the wings flapping...and the..what ever they are on her waist and arms...also blowing in the wind...it makes ur eye go crazy, shooting from corner to corner of the paper...crazy equals eye candy...straight up and down....equals boring. i was happy with the face on this one...i was asked recently why i dont like drawing faces...and if im not happy with them, change them..and the reason i dont like drawing faces, is cause its difficult for me..i struggle, and sometimes a lot. erase, draw, erase redraw...i hate it...sometimes i feel like im learning how to walk for the 1st time this one felt more like a finished drawing rather than a commission. over all, its simple, but i like the softness of her torso, and the shiny bikini top....me likey a lot update 23.7.09 : This one in too!! Thank you again Eric, you'll never know how much this one means to me !! Social/Sharing |

What a beauty, congratulation. Saw this piece on Sunday at FACTS when Eric worked on it.
