DescriptionHere it is, my first commission, done by the wildly talented Robert Jones. The pencil scans he sent me a while back (and which I posted here right away:) looked awesome, but the finished inks really make this thing POP! WOW! This Double-page Splash/pinup is huge and very impressive in person!Robert is a great guy that I met when I was still early to collecting. He was the inker on several books I liked as a teen, most notably Stormwatch (1st series) from Image/Wildstorm. I bought a lot of the pages he had left and over time developed a friendship. (He has some great stories about working in comics at that time:) So when I decided to get a commission from him, this is what I ended up asking for. This is based on an original pin up idea he had sketched back in the day, when the inkers got to do pinups in the Wildstorm books. He left the title before finishing the idea, but I convinced him to finish it for me, with some minor changes for my preferences. I'm very happy with the finished version, especially since he isn't in comics anymore and can't draw much due to an injury he sustained. So it took several months, and if you can believe it, he hadn't drawn in years! Simply amazing! Social/Sharing |
