Description
I'd followed Gen 13 when the comic came out in the 90's with art by J. Scott Campbell but stopped when Al Rio took his place. In my mind, Gen 13 was always about sexy art and this gorgeous page brought back all those associations. When I first saw it on eBay, my first thought was that it was by Bryan Hitch or Adam Hughes. The artist turned out to have been Canadian Yanick Paquette who is best known for "Seven Soldiers: Bulleteer" and "Ultimate X-Men." Ironically, though, the characters here are not from Gen 13 but are all from the Authority! This ties in with "The Authority" No. 14, Page 7-8 which showed Grunge going asleep on Swift and her remarking that "Damn teenagers. They're always all talk". Well, it turns out that Grunge had been turned into a living bomb in a plot to destroy the Carrier. Man, hook-ups are just getting more and more dangerous these days!
