Description

This illustration came from the White Wolf RPG and shows the Japanese swordsmith Isamu Harujiro. A craftsman of consummate skill, he had been asked by 7 powerful spirits to make swords for them. They cursed his work when he reneged on their agreement. While his blades would still be of great beauty and unparallelled sharpness, each would bear a curse. However, he was able to use the curse to his advantage and made a katana "Dragon of the Night" that could not be sheathed unless it had killed a spirit. Upon his death, his soul escaped the spirits' vengeance by residing in the sword. One scenario in the RPG had this sword coming into Hong Kong and various factions vying over it. (NYCC - 2009/02)
