Description

Original write-up: "I purchased this page from the one and only David Mandel. This page is rather humorous as Nightcrawler assumes Professor X's image to antagonize the Juggernaut."

Addendum: Since I posted this page many years ago without much fanfare, a sub-set of original art collecting has taken hold of our 'investment' hobby now. Without identifying the numerous collectors who have elevated birth and first appearance original art pages to all time highs, this page is from Claremont and Cockrum's first opportunity to make Nightcrawler as Professor X with his Stark Industries Image Inducer. He had used it before in previous issues, but he had never copied and imitated Professor X. This one is a stretch, but it seems to hold some mettle as a "First something". As a result, I changed the title heading now that I have moved this to my Featured gallery section.

Love this page! Powerful work by Dave Cockrum and Sam Grainger! Fun to see Nightcrawler disguising himself as Professor X and having a great time confusing his foes. Nice action scenes by Cockrum, beautifully inked by Grainger! Fantastic pick-up!
