Hey, I remember this page! I bought it from Frank in 1982 for $50! Sold it on ebay a few years ago. Love the inks and the city.

Miller was such a skilled and inventive storyteller at this point... each new month of DD was a new treat.

50 bucks?! This page is outstanding! That right panel is amazing for many reasons.

And it wasn't that much more expensive when he sold it around the year 2000 (+/-) to me. It's a hot potato - not one of the fully pencilled Miler DDs.

Whatever you paid, I'd say it was well worth it. It's true that not all pages penciled by Janson move me (in fact, the same is true for Miller, and he's my favorite creator in comics), but the layouts on this page really showcase Miller's genius IMHO (the action in the right panel happening in parallel with the drama on the left is just wonderful) and the drawing and inking are strong in every panel and highly representative of the memorable look and feel of Miller's 30+ issue stint on DD. Nothing beats a good deal on a great work of art!
