I was the original owner of the Avengers 181 cover by George Perez and the X-Men 122 cover by Cockrum.

Hard to make these out from the photo, but that's them inside the smaller square on the left side of the photo.

So cool to see the covers in this photo. Even more interesting is that your customers don't seem to care. Must have been a good deal on comics that day that people don't even look at the artwork. 8 )

No, it was the Grand Opening of the new store location, circa 1980.... back then there wasnt very much interest in comic art. There's another picture in my Eldorado Comics gallery where we had a half price sale on artwork.... ha!

I just wished I had kept buying artwork back then as I was friends with just about all of the key Marvel artists.
