Description

World War 3 Illustrated is, to quote the official website, "a semiannual political comix magazine" (http://www.worldwar3illustrated.org/) The Museum of Comic and Cartoon Art, aka MoCCA, had a release party for the laest issue on April 30th.

One of the artists present was the amazing Peter Kuper. In addition to his work on WW3, Kuper illustrated Spy Vs Spy for Mad Magazine, adopted Franz Kafka's Metamorphosis into a graphic novel, and drew a truly bizarre Captain America story, just to name a few credits. He's an amazing artist, and I was hoping to get a sketch by him, even just a quick doodle. Given his style & sensibilities, somehow I just knew he'd do something really good that related to my coffee-drinking art theme. Kuper was a bit puzzled by my request, but he obligingly doodled an uber-caffeinated java junkie on the title page of the WW3 Illustrated: 1980 - 1988 trade paperback. Cheers!
