Dave was acting as Gene's agent when I commissioned the pencil sketch, and I was subsequently able to commission Dave to do an inked version of a "fantasy comic cover" over Gene's pencils (using a light box, the original pencils were preserved).

It's a shame Colan liked Guiterrez's inks so much because I think they were awful-they made everything greasy looking.
