Description

This is my rendition of Gaston Leroux's venerable Erik, The Phantom of the Opera!

This original was published in

Jean-Marc Lofficier's translation -- the first-ever and only complete English-language translation! -- of Gaston Leroux's classic 1911 novel The Phantom of the Opera (Black Coat Press, 2004). I am just one of 45 world-renowned illustrators in the book!

My portrait of Erik is 9 1/4" x 14" and includes the Leroux novel quote hand-lettered at the top, as shown here.

It was drawn with pen, ink, markers and white correctional pen in August, 2004, on clean 3-play Bristol board.

The original art is in pristine condition, no yellowing or fading -- being marker, though, it will require some caution in framing (UV glass recommended) and display (keep out of direct sunlight, certain other kinds of light will also fade markers over time).
