Art of Ratatouille sketches

      In September 2007, I went to the Fouth Annual Cartoon Art Museum Benefit at Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville. In the opening hour, I walked around the upper hallways to view artwork and maquettes. Small drawings of rats were painted along the walls for Ratatuoille Hide and Seek. Large statues of characters are arranged at the front of the lobby. Delicious snack foods and wine were served in the lobby. Attendees gathered in the theatre for presentations by Mark Andrews, Dylan Brown, Sharon Calahan, and Jim Capobianco. Story supervisor Mark Andrews gave a great talk as I've seen before and left early to help two sick children at home. Director Jim Capobianco presented the world premiere screening of Our Friend the Rat. Following the very entertaining presentation in the theatre, attendees rushed to the desert offerings. Meanwhile, I brought my Art of Ratatouille book and sought autographs from the Pixar staff. Jim and Supervising Animator Dylan Brown drew sketches as well as signing. I was glad to get autographs from Technical Director and CAM board member Dr. Michael B. Johnson and Director of Photography Sharon Calahan.

      At comic conventions and other events, I was able to see Jamie Baker, Enrico Casarosa, Ted Mathot, Bill Presing, and Ronnie del Carmen for autographs and sketches.
