Description

Lee Brown Coye did a huge series of art for a book on New York that was never published. The Knickerbocker Collection was the result of that effort. This particular piece was lost for many years until a New York book dealer visited a local lawyer's office with the intent of buying some antique books. When the dealer saw this on the lawyer's office wall he opted to purchase it instead of the books. The lawyer said it had been hanging on his wall for 50 years ( and thus was potentially "lost" as no one in the office knew of it's Knickerbocker history ). It was simply given given to him by a family member of Lee's on the grounds of it's barrister theme. The small piece on the bottom was originally attached to the back. This piece is included on the last page of ARTS UKNOWN. Purchased from a comic book store in New York.
