Description

Mary Grandpr� is the cover artist and interior illustrator of the American editions of the Harry Potter books.
This was an unused cover design for the Sept 20, 1999 issue of Time Magazine which contained an article about the Harry Potter phenomenon.
I put it along side a scan of the final cover. It looks like they kept the same basic composition, but simplified the elements surrounding Harry's head.

Sort of weird seeing the scar in the centre of his forehead, especially after the films.
