Some Things Would Even Make the Joker Cry

Josh and I have been fans of Tommy's but could never find him when he atteneded Wizard World Texas. On Friday, at WizardWorld '07, I finally found Tommy in a corner of artist alley.




When I told Tommy about the book, he wanted to think about who he wanted to draw, and asked me to come back on Saturday. The next day, Tommy, people in line and even the artist next to Tommy started talking about who to draw. We tossed around names like the Riddler, Posion Ivy, Bane, and a few others.




Tommy sold me when he said “some things would even make the Joker cry”.




On Sunday when I picked up this piece, I was blown away and started to tear up. Tommy smiled and told me how much he had enjoyed doing the piece because of its meaning.




At WizardWorld '08, I was proud to show Tommy the sketch tattooed on my right calf.
