Well, what a fine mess this was. It seems like the last year, I've ha my share, and shares of other's bad buying experiences. I've had this piece for a while now, but I've been so busy with site work that I haven't posted it yet.

When I initially saw this piece on Ebay, I really liked it and hoped that I could get it cheap, which I did. I think I paid more for shipping from Brazil than I did the actual piece. Well, after a month it arrived and at once I knew my day was going to be ruined. The piece was advertised as being done on 11 x 17 professional board, and the crushed 12 x 12 box I was looking at was not going to hold that type of art.

Well, I opened up the box to find a piece of 11 x 17 copy paper rolled up and flattened. Ugh. It was not on the professional board that was advertised, it was rolled up with multiple creases and didn't match the art on the listing. Great.

So, I asked the seller, erivelto, for an explanation of the copy and he claimed it wasn't, until I sent pics and side by side comparisons, then he didn't really have a defense. He offered a commission from some other artists, but not Marcio (who has NO fault in this). I declined the commission offer and got a refund, but I wanted to warn others.

I left the art under pressure for a few months and just got a hi-res scan and am hoping to get it inked and turn this ordeal into something good, because this actually is a cool drawing of Nightwing and Vigilante. I joked around with Icon UK that I had a piece that belonged in his gallery, Dick Grayson being tied up, so here you go Icon UK, I promise I'm not trying to steal your theme ;)

That's really bizarre, Jerry. I'm sorry about your unenviable experience. Nevertheless, I agree that this piece is still salvagable as a pretty intriguing and suspense-laden rendition of Nightwing.

I had similar problems with Eri. Fortunately it looks like Abreu is repped by Comicconart now. Let me know if you have it inked, I didn't think the paper was good enough.

All problems aside, this piece is really Cool! I'm not familiar with Marcio but like his style!
