DescriptionIn the early 1970s, as perhaps the most charismatic member of the Fantastic Four, the Thing was given his own title, where the Thing would team up with a different hero (or couple of heroes) to face that month's threat. The book was given the rather bizarre title of Marvel Two In One, which I always thought to mean two heroes in one book, but sometimes there were more, and they didn't change the title in those months to Mavel Three in One. Based on the formula of a lot of action, sprinkled with humor, and peppered with generally solid and sometimes exceptional art, the book was largely successful and ran for nearly a decade. This is another of my early acquisitions, a nice bronze age battle page from Marvel Two In One 76 featuring the Iceman, Thing, and the currently deceased Goliath fighting the Ringmaster. This page was pencilled by steady hand of Jerry Bingham and inked by Silver Age great Chic Stone. The letterer apparently got pretty tired by the end of this page, as the "FRAKAM" on that last panel is one of the weakest attempts at a sound effect that I ever have seen. Social/Sharing |

How can this NOT be in the collection of Marvel Two in One 76 Guy's collection? Wow, a great page to be sure.

This is a great page. I'm still laughing at your comment about the weak lettering in the last panel. :)

Now that you mention it, the sound effect in the last panel, though still much better, does remind me of my own attempts at creating them when I was a kid.
