Hawkman saves himself and Hawkgirl from execution and helps the rest of the JSA escape and regroup as a team to take on villain Onimar Synn. Synn, however, absorbs all Nth metal on Thanagar, including the Claw of Horus, and the JSA's attacks fail. Hawkman and Hawkgirl unite their spirits to take back the Claw of Horus and defeat Synn.
