This one technically isn't in the sketchbook, but I'm adding it to this book because I got it while working on filling this book. Brad Tree from the
Baltimore Comic-Con and I work closely year around on getting all kinds of tasks from significant things like press releases and web content to menial things like hunting down images of Harvey Award nominee work.
Sean Chen had done a piece of original artwork for him as a thank-you last year, and offered to do so again this year. Brad graciously redirected him to me, and he said he'd be happy to do so. The way Brad sprang this on me was to ask, "Don't think about it -- what is your favorite comic character?" Yes, I am a lemming, and along with a significant portion of the rest of fanboydom, I answered Wolverine. I have a Marvel sketch from Sean in my original "Anything Marvel" sketchbook, but it's nothing like this! Sean did it on oversized Bristol board, it's full-body, with some background as well. I told Sean at the show he shouldn't worry about it, but he appparently squeezed it in (and I just didn't see him before we both left), so he was kind enough to ship it. Sean is a really nice guy, which anyone who's bumped into him at a show can tell you, but this just shows what a genuinely nice and gracious guest of the show he is. I told him directly, but I'll post it again here -- Thanks Sean!
