The cover features Maverick in the final battle against the Jorge Gonzalez & Jim Cheung created Sickle from the double-sized issue 12. I added a 'digital' overlay in the picture above for reference. Many thanks to Jim for making this one happen!!! Born Christopher Nord and later known as David North, Maverick first appeared in X-Men #5 (Volume 2) in 1992 and was created by Jim Lee.
