Batman/Grendel II #1, p. 43

One of the things I loved about both Batman/Grendel series is how utterly different they were; the first one being an intricate chessmatch, and the second one being a brutal game of dodgeball (as one would expect given the iterations of Grendel involved in the tales).  I like how that was reflected in the art as well, with this second series being more visceral and feeling more extemporaneous in the layout and execution; more thick, "blunt" lines and more bombast!

The one thing that was a constant in both was Matt Wagner's expert skill at pacing and executing the story and art in compelling, "true" fashion, and this great page is a stellar example of the blunt force that is Grendel Prime (and what you might receive from Batman, should you be unlucky).  Sweet page - congrats!
