Description

So after Jim sketched Sinestro for me, my girlfriend was next in line. She knew I was excited to see Jim Lee, so she brought along one of my Spider-man hardcovers. This particular one had red binding inside, so if Mr. Lee was to sketch Spidey, it'd need no coloring whatsoever. The hardcover was the Torment storyarc....by Todd McFarlene.

I thought nothing of this at first. My girlfriend was getting this for me as an early anniversary present. She requested Spider-Man....and Mr. Lee said he didn't know how to do Spider-Man and asked for someone else. I was not in the area when this occurred because I didn't want to ruin the surprise (even though I already knew about it), so she came running to me asking what else I wanted.....I went back and asked for Gwen, no go. So I said whatever he felt comfortable with and he ended up sketching Batman.

So now that I have an AWESOME Batman in my Spider-Man hardcover, I have to think to myself....should I have someone put Spider-Man on the other side? All I can imagine is Spider-Man saying one of his humorous quips while Batman looks at the viewer with the most serious facial expression ever!

Thanks a TON to Mr. Lee, he didn't have to do this at all, given the circumstances.
