(December 22, 1940) (The Register & Tribune Syndicate) Not only is this “1-OF-ONLY-3” surviving Spirit “PRE-WORLD WAR II” cover art examples “FROM 1940” to exist, but it is also “THE EARLIEST SURVIVING EXAMPLE” of Spirit artwork that features The Spirit's sidekick & pint-sized confidant, “EBONY”. Last but certainly not least, this Spirit Sunday supplement cover art “PREMIERES THE VERY 1ST OF THE FAMOUS THE SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS STORIES”.
