Okay, I hope Josh doesn't get PO'ed at me for posting this, because it is a sketch that he started for me and aborted after his brush pen started bleeding too much, but I thought it was looking so awesome that I scanned it for posting anyway (and hope I can bring him a white ink correction pen one day so that he can finish it!). This was at the first annual
DC Comic-Con the day after
Free Comic Book Day 2010, and
Josh Luna of the Luna Brothers arrived a bit after Jonathan, who was already hard at work on a Wolverine sketch in my Anything Marvel 2 book. Jonathan and Josh both went to SCAD and have art degrees, but Jonathan does most of the artwork these days on their books (see The Sword for the latest example), so I was a little surprised to see Josh pick up the sketchbook when Jonathan was finished and take a whack at The Hulk. It was really looking awesome -- look at the power in that fist that's still in pencil -- when the brush pen bled and the eye got lost in the ink. I still like this sketch a lot, but Josh dumped the brush pen and went with a regular ink pen for the next stab (which also came out great!).
