Some of my favorite work by Todd was invasion. I tried to get this page but the dealer didn't return my emails. Lucky you. Great choice.

Definetely a very nice early TMC page. I agree that Invasion is underrated, it was the last hurrah of Todd on DC cardboard, before taking off on ASM. All the greatness already shows here!

I agree, the book looks fantastic, particularly chapter 4 where Todd took over the inks. The MCfarlane look finally came though on this book. Everything from the way he moved the camera to his page layouts It shows how important inking is to the art form, Looking at the Infinity Inc #28 page.13 posted on CAF where Todd's pencils are still visable in blue,Tony De Zuniga was really heavy handed and changed the finished look a lot. Same with Alfredo Alcala. Great inkers both but they worked against what Todd was going for. P Craig Russell, Al Gordon and Joe Rubinstein were true to his vision but when Todd started inking his own work, that's when it really came together. According to Eric Stephenson's essay in Image united 3 Todd drew 130 pages in a month Invasion and issues of The Hulk and AMS. That's incredible and makes this book all the more impressive to me.
