Description
I picked up this original pencil drawing directly from Adam and Alison at a SDCC.

For the 2008 Super-Con inking panel, Hughes created this pencil drawing of Wonder Woman for a long list of top industry talent to ink over. The pencil image was mechanically reproduced onto whatever medium the inkers preferred and the fun began! Here is the original raw pencils in all its graphite glory!

Inkers are more than "tracers". They're often times the unsung heroes that can either make or break a penciler. They can create line weight, depth and shading. At it's best, the inker and penciler are a TEAM. If you look back at the stories you remember fondly, most remember the artistic team; Byrne/Austin, Kirby/Sinnot, Lee/Williams!

Wonder Woman stands 16 inches tall on a much larger bristol board. The image was published in "Cover Run, The DC Comic Art of Adam Hughes".

Superb addition Constant! I have one of the inked pieces from that show and wondered what happened to the original (I didn't see it at Adam's booth :)) As for artist and inker teams, I have a fondness for work by Hughes & Story!

What a classic, definitive piece. And Hughes is among the rare artists whose work is intense at every stage: the pencils, that were the basis for the tonal marker piece, that was scanned to produce his final Photoshop art.
