Superman Annual #5 ('93) page 46 splash by David Lapham (1993) "Bloodlines"

David Lapham was one of my favorite artists in the early '90s. Not because he was flashy like all the Image guys I also loved, but because of his solid story telling in his work. I loved his Valiant work, then followed him and Jim Shooter to Defiant, where I thought Plasm was going to rock after issue #0, then it lost all appeal when the story shifted to humans. But I digress:)


Right after Defiant started to flag out, David did a single DC book, this Superman Annual which I of course bought, then went off to do his self publishing thing which led to several awards, including Eisner's. I still own this book, and have never seen any pages from it available before, but it was Superman right after the whole big "Death" thing, and it was David, which made it even cooler to me. So I picked this up and couldn't be happier:)
