This incredible Variant Cover for issue #1 features the iconic "Heroic Age" Avengers lineup, including the classic trinity of Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America, alongside Spider-Man and John Romita Sr.'s very own legendary co-creation, Wolverine!

The Thor image was actually drawn by John Romita Sr. on a separate board, then meticulously cut and pasted onto the main cover layout for this #1 variant. The placement is flawless, and the underlying art remains completely unaffected by this production change. It’s an amazing look into traditional cover assembly by a true master!

Complete original pencils and inks by John Romita Sr. on 11x17 Bristol board.

Avengers #1 Xerox copy ,pencil art before ink is a lovely bonus to the original Cover artwork.

What makes this copy truly special is that it actually features original, hand-drawn elements by the master himself! Romita Sr. touched up the copy with original inks on Captain America's shield, Thor's hand and Mjolnir, and Wolverine's claws, plus added some extra pencil work on Spider-Man.

Effectively, this means I have an additional piece of original Romita Sr. art—a production copy enhanced with his actual ink and pencil work. The copy measures approximately 11x17 inches.
