DescriptionUpdate - 10/12/2010: FINALLY Caught up with Christina again at NYCC and she managed to finish Molly! I've got her back now! Christina still wants to tweak her a little more, but I'm happy enough with it that it'll go on my wall. Still, I promised to bring Molly back the next time I see Christina so she could "finish" her up. Nevertheless, she did a fantastic job and I can't thank her enough.UPDATE- 7/11/2009: I saw Christina today and she showed me the progress she's made on Molly! It's looking fantastic so far, and coming along nicely. Maybe next time I won't take up all her time talking to her and just let her work. XD Molly was penciled by Michael Ryan and Christina Strain colored her with a combination of Watercolor Pencils, Copic Markers and Paint Pens. Original Post - I was able to work out this collaboration between extremely friendly Runaways artists Michael Ryan and Christina Strain at NYCC '09. I got on Michael's list, and asked him to pick a character to be a pirate, and right away he wanted to do everyone's favorite indestructible 12 year old with super strength, Molly. Christina was sitting right next to him and got extremely excited about that idea. Michael finished up this piece about midday Sunday and I snapped a picture of it before Christina started on the colors. She had gotten about half of it done and wanted to finish it so she offered to take it home (which she never does!) and send it to me when it's finished. I'll post the final piece when I get it....assuming Christina lets me have it back, she said she might have to kill me and take it. XD Sorry for the crummy quality pic. It was taken with a camera at the con. I'll get a scan up when I get them in hand. Social/Sharing |

Michael is a truly great guy, and while it sounds like an epic to get this piece done, it looks like it was well worth the wait! If you have a daughter, I recommend framing this for her bedroom wall. (>:
