Description

Another gem from 1944, this one about rationing during WWII. The woman coming down the stairs exclaims: "Better leave your coats on! Since Henry's working in politics, we have to save out coal for any important guests he might bring home!" 11/1/44.

Lovely brushwork throughout, especially on the figures. The more I think about Clark's work, the more I wonder if Hank Ketcham was influenced by him. I wish I thought to ask Hank years ago.
