Francis Manapul - Catwoman

I wsa chatting with Agnes early Friday morning at the 2010 New York Comic Con and she mentioned Francis would be sketching at the HERO Initiative booth for a little bit. I ran on over and was early in Francis' line. I've loved Francis' work since I saw him on Legion a few years back; got the book just for his art! As I waiting in line, I was debating whom I should ask for: a Legion member? A Flash character? Someone else?

I settled with someone else, as I had a Catwoman TPB on me for reference. Francis seemed to have fun doing the sketch and watching him paint was hella cool! A pencil outline and then right to the paint brush! While he painted, we chatted about cons and all the little touches he adds to his art. As we were talking about that, he added a nice little touch to the Catwoman piece; can you find it? ;) Francis even went and used 2 pages to make a 2 page-spread. Unfortunately, my scanner lost a good bit of detail on the wash but, still, great way to start a sketchbook, don't you think?
