When my friend John went to the Mid-Ohio Comic Con last month, he had offered to look for some stuff for me (I paid him later). I gave him a list of tradepaperbacks, but when he was in the con he messaged me to let me know he found the Big Barda mini bust designed by Adam Hughes. I've been wanting to get the bust but have been limited by my location (small city in Canada) and in ability to travel or order online. He was able to get the bust for me at a lower price.

John had mentioned that Adam Hughes was at the convention himself, signing autographs, and asked me if I wanted him to ask Adam to sign the box for me. Thinking about it I asked if he could get him to sign the base instead. He did!

I'm really happy to finally have this mini bust. Barda is one of my 2 favourite superheroines, and I really wanted to get the bust as a companion piece to go with the Barda sketch I got from Adam 2 years ago.

I'm also tickled by how odd it is that 2 completely unrelated online friends of mine (who don't know each other), both approached Adam at 2 different conventions on opposite sides of the US, 2 years apart, on my behalf. My other friend Paul had surprised me by talking to Adam at the SDCC in 2008, which lead to my getting in touch with him, and receiving my Barda sketch. So much for being an agoraphobic in "small town" Canada!

Thank you to both John for picking up the statue for me, and standing in line, and thank you to Adam for taking the time to sign it.
