I was very new to original comic art when I saw this cover. I was full steam ahead on the new (circa 2005) Captain America series by Ed Brubaker and Steve Epting and thought it was the best Cap I had ever read and seen. When I saw the solicit for this image I instantly researched online to see where you could buy Steve Epting art. After tracking all that down and inquiring about it and agreeing on a price, which was at this stage of my collecting very shocking and unheard of - in other words, eons ago - I bought it. Only the second comic book cover I bought once I started collecting original art, it is a classic modern cover by one of the greatest artists ever in Steve Epting. Its draw for me was twofold. I LOVED the series and story and it featured The Invaders (Or All Winners). It was a nod to Marvel's Timely days which they never did. The fact that the art is of the highest caliber goes without saying. I still say this series is the greatest Captain America story ever and Steve Epting is the greatest artist to ever draw Cap. All-time classic.
