Description

Dustin Weaver's work on SHIELD has been blowing my mind, so it was a great thrill when I emailed him and he agreed to draw this for me at the ECCC 2011. This piece is sublimely rich with media; to view it up close is more than a visual experience. It smells strongly of ultra-black marker, and wite-out parts are raised over some of Tesla's electric bolts. . . have you ever looked at a painting and been totally drawn in, like in Kurosawa's Dreams? He really went above and beyond the call of duty when he designed these characters, and he poured all his love into them on my 11x17. Thanks, Jim and Dustin, I love it!

The detail on Nostradamus is utterly surreal. Dustin was clearly channeling arcane forces when he rendered this commission. I'm floored!

Purely one of the coolest images I have seen on CAF in a long time. Weaver is a legend in the making.
