At this stage I've already begun etching the face, but the major work, as you can see, was in the abdomen, arms, and shirt. For the fleshtones, I layered Derwent Russet for shadow on a Staedler pinkish hue. I'm especially proud of the abdomen because I was aiming for model definition as opposed to superheroine. As to the shirt, which is still in development, I used Derwent Graphtint midnight black for the underlayer and applied Derwent watercolor Midnight Black for the darker areas to show depth. The trick was avoiding the cascading hair in the front as well as aiming for a photorealistic depiction of her chest as opposed to line art patterns. So far so good. The next challenge is finding the right combination of watercolor pencils for the right tone of hair from my supplies. If you have any suggestions, however, please feel free to voice your opinion.
