Description
Mitch Byrd is an amazing artist. His technical skills are just mind blowing. And he draws beautiful, full figured women in an industry of chiseled, model types.

This piece came to me in an... interesting way. Mitch was attending a con that I was at very early in my career. I went to his table and sifted thru the piles of art he had. He was drawing a piece for someone and he was very quiet. I told him how much I admired his work and he was a big inspiration to me. I picked up this piece and asked him "How much?" I was willing to pay anything. He' replied...

"You can have it."

At this point, I hadn't done very many books so he had NO idea who I was. He was just a guy to created art and thought he would share with someone who enjoyed it.

I refused to take it for free so I left some cash on his table and said thanks. My most interesting interaction with an artist I wanted art from.

It's amazing how the little flip of the skirt conveys so much energy into the image.

I'm a big fan of Mitch's work as well - does anyone know how the hell to contact him or have any idea if he goes to cons in the north east! Thanks for sharing a great story.

I remember this piece from YEARS ago. Mitch has done coloring on quite a few pieces. He doesn't do it very often but when he does it takes it to a whole new level. I LOVE seeing this piece again.
