I maybe jumping the gun on this one but I'm too excited about this commission to shut up about it. I asked Dave for a commission of Alex Delarge from A Clockwork Orange. I gave him complete free will to do whatever he wanted and this is the result. Just amazing!
Alex makes a sexy bigger woman. :P
I was somewhat conflicted about where this would go in my gallery. A Clockwork Orange is both one of my favorite books, and favorite movies. However, I can only really base the commission on Malcom's portrayal of him. Plus I only picked up the book after watching the movie, so I think the piece belongs here.
Do I mind that Alex, one of my favorite movie villains has changed gender? Let me think on this one... HELL NO! Dave really knocked this one out of the park. I've learned it won't come colored like the image above, I'm not even sure if the lettering will be there, but to be honest, it doesn't really matter. What I get out of this is an incredible re-imagining of Alex DeLarge.
On a somewhat related note, I actually got to meet Malcom McDowell last year at the Calgary Expo. The girl in front of me cosplayed as Alex but was missing the "centre" piece if you get my meaning. Malcom rather hilariously pointed out the missing piece from the girl's costume. He's a very nice guy to the fans too by the way. Enjoy all. Cheers.
