Kevin Huizenga, spread from Supermonster 8

1999. Reprinted in the first issue of Huizenga's "Or Else" (Drawn and Quarterly, 2004). From a poetic and moving full-length story, in which the text is quoted from the actual adoption papers of a Korean child, and the images are based on classical Chinese painting. The subtle pencil tones here were reduced in the printed version to bitmap dot patterns; I like this version better. I think this is the best two-page spread in the whole book (I happened to have first pick of the art, for no other reason than being the first to ask if it was for sale).
