Description

Phil Jimenez is among my favorite comic artists of all time. I've always marveled at the immense amount of detail he puts into every piece he does, while managing to retain a smooth and clean appearance. When I found out that he would be appearing at the Pittsburgh Comic-Con, I made every effort to make it into his line on all three days of the show.

This is the first piece he did for me, featuring the X-Men's Shadowcat. Mr. Jimenez and I talked the entire time he drew the piece and I got to find out that he was a funny, intelligent, and engaging guy. What you're looking at here is what he called a "headsketch" (to distinguish her from just a "cute girl", in his words, he wanted to draw her phasing through an object). Simply unbelievable: This simple "headsketch" is one of the nicest pieces I own! Mr. Jimenez did the piece for me for free and when I asked him if I could give him anything for it, he suggested that I donate to the American Diabetes Association instead. You can believe I did so the day after I got home from the show! Thanks, Mr. Jimenez!!! :D

One of the coolest guys at the show hands down. He turned out wonderful pieces for fans all weekend long and was a blast to talk to. Awesome Shadowcat by Phil..Congrats! :)
