Description

Mad censored me a bit, but never as much as the Osama parody we did. Not only did Sam Viviano the Art director make me make all the changes here� as further punishment, he cropped in on the panel cutting out almost everything else on the censored page. He was outraged I put all the visual jokes in the background, quote� We had the same problem with Will Elder.�

When did Viviano start doing regular work at Mad? The mid-80's? Didn't Elder leave Mad in the mid/late 50's? I had read that he came back for a couple collaborations with Kurtzman, but the ones I've seen didn't have the cluttered "chicken fat" style or dense background jokes.
